CWS TRAINING (WEBINAR)

This workshop is the first of the 4 levels (see general information on CWS training) and it introduces the Crisi Wartegg System (CWS), a standardized methodology for the clinical use of the Wartegg Drawing Completion Test (WDCT). The WDCT is a projective drawing technique that can be completed in 5-10 minutes and is appropriate for children, adolescents, and adults. It is easy to administer and not overwhelming for clients to complete.

Objectives for Level 1 

By the end of this Level 1, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe personal experience of test completion, applying to clinical work with clients, predicting client reactions, behaviors, and performance variability;
  2. Discuss the history of the WDCT as a performance-based personality assessment tool;
  3. Summarize the empirical and conceptual foundations of the CWS and its potential applications in clinical research and practice;
  4. List the steps required for proper administration of the CWS to adults according to standardized administration procedures;
  5. List the steps required for proper administration of the CWS to children and differently- abled clients according to standardized administration procedures;
  6. Identify the graphic stimulus, evocative character, and interpretive meaning of each WDCT box, per the
  7. Describe and correctly score the Evocative Character of completed CWS protocols;
  8. Describe and correctly score the Affective Quality of completed CWS protocols;
  9. Describe and correctly score the Form Quality of completed CWS protocols;
  10. Describe and correctly score Content of completed CWS protocols;
  11. Describe and correctly score Frequency (Popular) responses of completed CWS protocols;
  12. Describe and correctly score Special Scores of completed CWS protocols;
  13. Describe and correctly score Movement responses of completed CWS protocols;
  14. Correctly calculate Box Codes and elaborate the Analyses of Sequence 1 and 2 of the CWS.
  15. Correctly calculate the indices and percentages contained on the CWS structural summary.
  16. Correctly calculate Adaptive Area and Affective Area indices and percentages, per CWS guidelines.

Prerequisite Training

This is an introductory level workshop, open to psychologists and graduate students training to be psychologists. Participants need no previous experience with the WDCT, but previous knowledge of other performance-based personality tests will be useful.

Continuing Education

This workshop qualifies for 18 hours of Type I CE credits for psychologists, pending SPA approval. The Society for Personality Assessment is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. SPA maintains responsibility for the program and its content. CE credits will be available for $15, payable at the time of training.
